The use of bioresorbable staples for mucoperichondrial flap coaptation in septoplasty.

چکیده
C of the mucoperichondrial flaps at the conclusion of septoplasty has been a challenge since the procedure was introduced in 1882 by E. F. Ingals. The purpose of coaptation is to reduce the dead space between the flaps and facilitate healing. If dead space persists, a septal hematoma may form that can lead to complications such as abscess formation and separation of the blood supply from the cartilage. Occasionally, this can result in a septal perforation and/or a “saddle-nose” deformity.

New incision method for effective execution of endonasal septoplasty.
Introduction: Endonasal septoplasty is almost no effect on the tip support mechanism. However, it has the difficulties in exfoliation of muciperichondrial flap and narrow view of the surgical area. Therefore, Author have devised incision method that can more easily exfoliate and more effectively expose the nasal septum that the existing approach method and I am making report of the comparison o...
متن کاملSpreader flap correction of dorsal septal deviations.
A good rhinoplasty dissection is crucial to identify and release the vectoral forces on a deviated septum before correction. Even after completing the dissection, dorsal hump reduction, septoplasty, and osteotomy, there may be persisting septal deviation. A number of techniques have been identified to correct various kinds of deviations that persist after release. Cartilage grafts from the sept...
متن کاملThe Efficacy of Bioabsorbable Mesh as an Internal Splint in Primary Septoplasty
Nasal bone fractures are often accompanied by septal fractures or deformity. Posttraumatic nasal deformity is usually caused by septal fractures. Submucosal resection and septoplasty are commonly used surgical techniques for the correction of septal deviation. However, septal perforation or saddle nose deformity is a known complication of submucosal resection. Hence, we chose to perform septopl...
متن کاملIncidental finding of lymphoma after septoplasty
INTRODUCTION Septoplasty, or surgical correction of the deviated septum, is an elective, routinely performed rhinologic procedure to address nasal airway obstruction. In many cases, resected septal cartilage and bone fragments are sent for pathologic review, although there is no consensus on this practice. We reported two cases of incidentally diagnosed lymphoma after elective septoplasty and d...
متن کاملA laser device for fusion of nasal mucosa
A patent pending device has been created, and successfully used, to fuse tissue membranes as an alternative to sutures or staples. The joining, or coaptation, is accomplished through the controlled application of laser heating to induce protein denaturation and subsequent renaturation across the interface. Lasers have been used by a number of researchers to close wounds in controlled laboratory...
